no annual fee to the rta and it is as little as 5 members but it has to be a registered car club with fair trading and it doesnt stop there..
lots more to it than it sounds so dont get to excited..committee is liable for any screw ups,so there is public liability,,there has to be a constitution which must be approved by fair trading and also the rta..
you must have a yearly agm which the minutes must be presented to fair trading etc etc etc..
the club i am involved in was the first registered with fair trading car club in australia that is purely internet based..wasnt that fun to deal with when it came to club rego in nsw..
any internet based registered car club that has club registration must be registered in that particular state as well..the club im involved with only has club rego in nsw..

I totally agree with you James, and as our Panel van is a commercial vehicle and we use it for building, it is a tax deduction...:shifty:

But having the red van in a club was an option with the other two blokes from Orange....

Yeah I would go for club rego if they based it on the km's you drive each year. They make it so that it is almost useless for me. If I went on a test run I dont even make it to town.
Sadly the RTA seem to be more and more out of control with their regulations. I read the other day they are going to bring in zero tollerance for speeding. So if you change your tyre size and your speedo is out by 1 km/h you are going to get booked.

Oh well we will all be riding pushbikes, walking or have a horse and cart then, coz most of Australia will loose their license

A log book system (45 or 90 days - your choice) has just been introduced in Vic as well. this is meant to go National. Check your local RTA.

No club runs, no 6 month waiting for club rego either.
