    Ewet magazine scans

I had these scans emailed to me a few weeks back - thank you!

Excuse the large size, but it's worth it.

I wonder what happened to it. No tourneau cover hooks, wonder how they deleted them.

    Press studs maybe??
What used to happen was they had press studs around the top of the tray, then the tonneau cover had an extra flap to cover them over.
How do i know???? I did it once with my HG.

Yeah I mean how did they get rid of the holes for them in the quarter panels. I dont imagine they just bogged them up. Or could they use panelvan quarters.

The tonneau was a hardcover. The Ewet was a styling exercise, they would have just built it without the holes for the tonneau. There was a second vehicle built too with near identical specifications, not sure if it had the same body and interior treatment though. I have a nice colour picture of the Ewet taken at the Sydney Motor show too, for the book. I also have an original of this magazine to scan this article for the book if I cna find the holder of the publishing rights to get permission.
The article is wrong too, the Ewet didn't have an LSD, the second car did. Ewet was Air/Steer. Sister was Steer and LSD.
Notice the vans on the cover, even when new they were modded. HQ has an ugly rear sedan/coupe bar and the HJ has Kingswood/Premier tail-light surrounds but they've left the HOLDEN lenses. How ugly is that yellow towbar? The HQ looks like it might have 350 transfers on the guards.

The HQ sedan bar looks alright. Have seen a HK van with perspex put in where the tail lights were originally and a HQ bar (Now have an idea for the rear of my HZ).
How can you tell that the yellow van is HQ?

I think that is such an iconic picture, even at age 9 I remember vans at beaches when we lived on the north shore....

I am thinking that Byron would suggest it being a HQ because the tailgate hinges are the smaller ones?...but there is probably loads of other tell tail signs only he would know....
