From what I know they were optional on HZ as part of an "Outback Pack" and they were standard on WB.
They are supposed to help with the cracking around the control arm mounting areas.
Thats what I know, maybe someone else will know more.

Factory, all wb got it, including statesman. I suppose every change is an afterthought as they move through the years.

Go back to page 2 of this thread, to my post on 2/3/11. All you need for HZ XW5 is there.

Note that HJ XW5 also had an enlarged front lower control arm rubber.

HK, I had a read through the list, and as I said, some of the parts listed are not fitted currently, or in the case of options F72 and K45, lack the knowledge to identify those parts, or any indicators that they may have been fitted in the past. Are there any such ways to identify if the were fitted, such as bolt holes, etc?

    Cheers, Evan.

K45 is just a heavier duty 6cyl aircleaner, memory is bad in this area but it may only be a heavier air cleaner element. F72 is really just 1-tonner springs from memory but these bolt straight in. F72 also includes stone shields on the shocks on commercials so maybe look for these. Have a read here too:
