That's funny Jennie. I just google searched more info on tyres and found that thread on here. The best info is closest to home.

This is a pretty good site as it allows you to enter your tyre size and it lets you know which rim size is good for them:

What are the best size front wheels.

Just looking at this old thread and I have a similar query.

    I have 6 inch fronts with 65 / 215s on them and 8 inch backs with 60 / 235 combo.

Im thinking about getting the front rims redone to 7 inch and putting maybe 60 /225s... Would this be a good front wheel size? (I have power steering...) I cant remember what my other vans have had and ive sold them off so cant check..

So further to that.. Does anyone have a pair of 14 inch by 7inch GTS wheels for sale?

    Cheers.

    Hainzy,
7's and 8's with 225 on the front seems to be a popular combination from some of the cars i've looked at. 225's on the front with out power steer would definitely be a struggle but the power steer should be fine if every thing is how it should be geometry/alignment wise.

im running 205s on the front with 14x7 with armstrong steer and a 350 sitting on top..air at 38 makes it light enough but would take a muscular woman to drive it..
215s on 7s are about the biggest you want to go without the car tracking..anything larger ive always found to follow the grooves in the road and wear tyres.

After much deliberation and research I have decided on the 225/65 on the 7 inch rims for the front and 235/60 on the 8 inch rims for the rear.

I have not swapped them as yet as I want to get the rims resprayed and I am trying to find a cheep way to do it. Best quote so far is $100 to sandblast all 4 and $500 to paint them. I want them done in a panel shop so the paint can be baked on in their bay.

thats not a bad price for repainting gts rims..there is a lot of work in them..especially if they are hand masked...as in not using those stupid masking kits.
