If that says XU-1 on the end, i'd be saying a LJ Torana.
BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
Yes correct. If that is original I WANT IT!!!!
There are so many "rumors" about this sticker on what is right and whats not.
Do you know the history of this rocker cover? Can it be proven? Next Q how much you want for it?

That looks to be the original sticker on the rocker cover, it is exactly the same as was on a mates XU1 back in the 80's. I'd be going back to that rally basher and checking the engine as it most probably is original to the cover..... IE a genuine XU1 202 worth many $$$$$ to the right buyer.

haha Im sure we can work something out. It obviuosly means more to you than me. I was just going to clean it up and hang it on the shed wall. It looks origional and its been on this car for a very long time.
Pity if it is a JP block because I wouldnt know one if I kicked it in the paddock. It didnt have triples hanging off it anyway. I left it hanging out the front with no tappit cover on now. The rockers looked standard to me, I would of assumed an xu1 would have had fancy rockers.
Getting the whole firewall\cowl nearly did me in yesterday in that heat... The bloody thing is up the mountains in a small valley and looks like it has been there for 30 years. I had to dig it out to get a jack under it to be able to undo the chassis bolts. Noone has been near it since I saw it about 5 years ago on a motorbike. I had to drive over trees to get in there.
Strange but it is rusted even on the tops of the doors near the windows but the cowl is perfect. Thats what I was after... :-)

If you do clean it please be very carful. Would hate to ruin the sticker. =)
If you want it for your shed maybe I borrow it or something. Happy to pay all the postage etc and also return it to you. Upto you Can throw you a new one once its done or something. Upto you.
Cheers

XU1 had early (pre HQ style) adjustable rockers. I'd go and have a look if I were you. A JP or NP block is worth very good money.
If you cant be bothered going back up there then feel free to divulge the location to me. I've got a ton of spare time and if there's dollars to be made then I promise to take my out of pocket expenses and put the rest towards a mysandman.com.au get together here in the Capital. Genuine XU1 block should pay for a decent BBQ with a few cases I would think.
I assume the engine was in a HQ?
