I rang Dominator torque converters on monday. When the TH400 comes out of the old HJ Premier, I was going to get a recoed torque converter for it. What they did, was rebuild a stock one for me with all new thrust bearings, etc, and increased the stall to about 1800rpm so the old 308 TH400 and 2.78 isn't so sluggish at takeoff. For $220 plus $30 delivery it turned up today, painted black as requested, ready to go. No exchange needed unless I was local then they would take one back. I thought that was amazingly good value, and is worthy of a plug. A stock one is about $145 (about 1500rpm stall). Just to clean one out costs about $100!
