Trim codes are listed in the parts manuals so are readily available, paint codes are not listed in the parts manuals or the paint charts so not really readily available which is why they have been listed many times on the web.

This is a Sandman specific Forum so only Sandman specific codes will be listed. Listing codes available in other models just becomes confusing for those new to Sandmans.

If you desire the information then all you have to do is buy a parts manual as many others who have this information have done, they are readily available and come up on Ebay quite regularly.

As for being "freely available"......... Why don't you go and fork out many hundreds or thousands of dollars buying parts catalogues, original brochures, production order sheets and other documents with the necessary information .... spend countless hours going through it all and cross referencing each document .......... then you can post it up on a web site for all those who are too cheap or lazy to do it themselves to access for free????????

Once you have posted up that information and made it freely available to the masses at great expense to yourself you can then sit back and cop abuse for not supplying enough free information, cop more abuse for inaccurate or incorrect information from all those people who's brothers girlfriends father used to own one and say's you are wrong.

I think what Absinth is trying to say is that part catalogues do come up for sale around the place. If you're really keen then try and buy one (although they can be expensive).

Some people who invest money on these items generally don't share what's in the catalogues and the data they gather from them, because they have invested lots of money and time in them and they are reluctant to allow the general public get it for nothing.

Personally this is not my view, I think knowledge should be shared and referenced among a greater audience for the benefit of maintaining the history and knowledge - who is to say the one who holds 'the book' should be the fountain of all knowledge? This is exactly how cults start.

Some years ago I was part of an online group of hobbyists that built flight sim cockpits. I mean the real 1:1 deal with real military spec parts and all the bells and whistles - I actually owned a Martin Baker mkII ejection seat and canopy from an F-16. I have sitting on my bookshelf a couple operation manuals for the F-16, F-15C and F-18A/B. They provide everything you need to know about flying the aircraft, servicing and even some tactical data. I paid a bit of money for them, but we were happy to share the knowledge, because we knew that in doing so many more people got enjoyment out of their hobby and the interest grew because of it.

Ultimately it is the person who owns a book, car, part or whatever it is their choice what they want to do with it - whether to share it, withhold it or burn it.

Perhaps you misunderstand my point, or you are an over-sensitive personality type. I wasn't crying poor or suggesting you should buy me something. I was trying to provide some trim code information for HX and HZ that I had collected, and which I have yet to see anyone post in a single place. If you have collected/provided Sandman information or data then thankyou. If you think I was having a dig at you (I have no idea who you are) then you're badly mistaken.

That is exactly the point of mysandman.com.au hx-sandman to have Sandman enthusiasts of ALL levels of knowledge and persuasions to share their info. Hopefully we as a community can thoughtfully sort through the years of misinformation to get hard facts about our Sandmans.

You keep posting what you find mate :errf:

No misunderstanding and no I'm not over-sensitive. I just get sick of people expecting information to be freely available to them with little or no effort on their part to obtain it. I see the same questions asked over and over again on the Forums I am a member of because people are too lazy or can't be bothered using the Forum search function. A simple Google search for trim codes should bring up my web site with most of this information. I have just changed over to a new service provider but have had this info on the web and available for the past 3yrs.

Most of the codes can be found here:
    http://www.44gpw.info/monarocodes.htm

I, like Blocker am happy to give out any information and make it available to all..... I just don't appreciate it when people make no more effort to find that info than posting a question on a Forum and then sitting back to wait for others to take the time and effort to research and answer their question.

I am probably a little pissed at the moment also as I wanted to bid on some panels in Sydney that the seller stipulates are pick up only.... I emailed a Forum member who lives in Sydney that I have helped out a lot and given lots of info to and asked if he could pick them up for me and I will arrange a Courier to pick them up from his place

He emailed me back saying that the seller was 20min drive from him and I shouldn't be asking him to go that far out of his way to help me, he also didn't want to have to hang around home all day waiting for a courier..... Real nice to see he appreciated all the help I had given him.... he won't be getting any more from me.

I am updating the website and looking at adding Trim codes somewhere.

Suggestions from you - would they be better in the Paint section, or should Paint and Decal be combined and have Paint/Decal and then a Trim section?

I would prefer not to have 3 separate sections though.
