    Jennie's cleaning tips

Hi all I just thought I would put a couple of pics of how to clean these relief vents which go in the pillar, they are usually covered in a brown grime, and the little rubbers are out of shape. they are not hard to do, and the plastic part of the vents when separated can go in the dishwasher...along with the air vents from the dash, this did not hurt them and saved a lot of cleaning (note I did not put the little rubber pieces in) if the rubbers are not flat, they need to have something heavy sat on them for a few hours to flatten them out...

When you pull them apart all the little nipples break off, and unless you have a poly welder, you need to glue with 2pk epoxy (arildite)

I just used a toothbrush and dishwashing detergent.

Very clean. I recon you should make a whole thread dedicated to Jennie's cleaning tips on bits and pieces. With a thread like that and such a determined know how lady running it, who wouldn't be able to tell a mysandman.com reader. Compliments to 'Wonder Woman' aka Jennie of the site.

Us guys have no sense of cleanliness...

Look great Jennie well done. Neat idea using the dishwasher.

I generally hit them with the Karcher will holding them down with my toes....... Hurts a bit though if you go too far and water blast the toes...

For cleaning plastic parts... particularly if they have been painted... soak them for a couple of days in a Caustic soda sollution.... take appropriate precautions when using Caustic soda as it also eats skin...

I dropped my vents into a bucket of CT18 truck wash for a few days. Every now and then I swished them back and forth and they came up pretty good. The upside was that I didn't have to split them or glue them back together.
