    Sorry if I have missed a post Mook, what colour IS that? It looks sensational mate, very well done! Great shine good panel work! Its goin to be one humdinger of a rig when its done! Great job!

    have a look at http://www.narva.com.au/products/bro...ormance-globes and they have a little graph that indicates colour temp against lumen output for their globes. the thing to note is how their 'brightest' blue globe is actually the least bright in lumens. this is because the blue filter is cutting out the majority of the red and green spectrum from the natural white light.

    I currently have standard 3000k 50w globes in my van (H4 outers and H1? inners) these are fair brighter tha the old sealed ones i used to have.

    Sounds like I'm on the right track ski man. I was looking at either 3000k or 3300k, I think that ill go for the 3000k headlamps for the more traditional look.

    yep, as Oz said get high wattage ones too, just make sure the housings your putting the globes in are not plastic, and are full glass. my bro put halogen housings into his hq tonner then bulked up the wattage and the lenses went milky and became warped due to heat.

    Yeah there are other problems you can encounter when trying to make old lights brighter. I put relays on my high beam circuit and ran bigger wattage globes. No dramas you would think...... turns out that the standard wb headlight plug (and earlier ones will have the same drama) are not a good enough connection for the higher power draw. Because they are a loose fitting connection they create huge resistance which equals heat and the plugs melted. Relay or no relay the fittings will never be up to the extra power draw.
    I only wanted to upgrade the low beam so when I dipped my lights they were slightly brighter than a candle. Driving lights fix high beam.

    I thought that i would give this a go on ebay, i really don't want to part with it. but if it sells for this price ill be happy

    It says that it is a column shift cut out, looks in good nick compared with what i've seen, not original for Sandman but looks pretty classy anyway

    hmm, tried fitting the halogen globes yesterday..
    Not much luck to be honest, found i was missing x2 retainers and the H4 bodys don't fit in the cup. Or whatever it is called. Plus the fit was rubbish. Thankyou Kingswood Country.
    The old sealed beams fit so much better. I may go back to them,
    Any advice on how to get them in ski man?

    Another Problem.

    I did not pre fit the taillight surrounds before painting the van, so I'm wondering was there anything in the holes for the pins to sit in? Rubber grommet etc?

    The list of missing bits
    x2 Headlight Retainers
    X2 Drip Molds
    X1 GM Indicator body ( i can't remember which side) The aftermarket ones are shocking!

    Back to the wreckers for mook.

    the bucket for h4 has a bigger hole.you can cut it out or i will have some i would think..on the sinbox i just used a drill bit that was the same size as the pin.
    ive also got all the other bits..
