That sounds like a great way to do it, in your opinion do you think that it makes much of a difference to the outside noises getting in?
I just purchased enough Dynamat to do the roof and the front floor under the carpet. Spent a small fortune, but i figure do it once and do it right.
With the lining rod did you have a wide gap in the felt for the bow? Was this so that the bow fitted easily when clipped in, or did you do this for the roof lining to clear the felt?

I groved the felt out so that the bow did not contact it and left clearance each side of the bow so when the lining was pulled tight the bow could move with reference to the lining I didn't end up using the thin wire and clip it to roof brace i couldn't get lining taught so I made up an extra bow out of mild steel rod to match the two rear bows I had.
Thankyou, very helpful.
I don't have the little lugs where the wire would go on my van (maybe a WB thing) so I think that this will work well for me.
I'm sure i can find another roof lining bow from another car that i can quickly modify.
The new bow I'm assuming was put in place just behind the bulkhead but leaving room to move when tensioning. (maybe 1cm back)
Sounds like it's going well Mook, can't wait to see the finished product (I bet you can't either!!).
On the note of head lining bow's I know we used to be able to buy reproduced bow's, but can we still, should I look at getting some second handies, or should I try and get some made up. Hoping in the next couple of months to have mine to the headling stage, so I had better get my but in gear!
