    253/308 modifications

I am wondering what sort of mods have been done to Holden v8's to increase capacity. i know 308's can be stoked to around 350 but what others are about.

There is a hx ute with a 253 with a Cleveland crank/rods on the bay and would like to know what this does to the little 253.

I read in a book about someone who was casting stroker cranks for 253's that took capacity to around 318 and apparently turned them into a torque monster.

I know the general wisdom is dont bother with a 253, spend the dollars on a 308. I love the little 253 though and think they dont deserve to become boat anchors. They sure as s%^t had more appeal than the 250 motor the opposition were offering at the time!

common over here in the west to bore the 253 out to 292 and run the STD 307 chev piston.
