HX/HZ Sandman Decals.

Ive put this on fastlane also. But this raises questions for the HX/HZ Sandman decals.

I brought a NOS HZ parts book recently and it came with a supplement. Its effective October 1980 just like the parts book.

Interesting thing is in the supplement is lists the sandman stripes available. It does not list DY6. And! it does list DX5. But it lists what is believed to be DX5 HX stripes (plum, purple, dark blue). Not the bright blue, blue green, dark blue HZ DX5. So where does this leave the three Blue combo? How sure are we that the 3 blues in HZ are DX5?? In October 1980 the 3 blue combo was not even listed....

It goes on also. DY4. Is listed as bright yellow, light orange, dark orange. I thought this was a HX only colour. obviously not. So if DY4 is the orange/yellow combo than what is the white, blue green, dark blue combo called in HZ.

Opens up a can of worms no doubt!

Bloody interesting. So all those weeks putting together the decal spreadsheet... we have to revisit it.

It's so much better relying on documented info instead of old photos and 'my mate said' proof.
Even if this document is a typo, in my opinion it needs to be proven to be a typo rather than relying on 'expert' opinion, but that's too difficult with such a long time that has passed.

SO if the supplement was October 1980, then COULD have some WB's been Sandman's as well???????

Talking to Byron about it on fastlane. What he said makes sence. It seems that someone got mixed up when making the revision for the HZ book and put HX stripes in there. It makes sence because they are exactly the HX stripes. Not HZ. Im convinced. It does not make sence otherwise. So yes. Seems that its a major typo!

NB: DY4 for the HZ has a white outline which cannot be seen with white background on forum page.
