great stuff ski man!
that looks great, are you going to extend the door blackouts onto the body?
almost a dead ringer of Jennie's!
yeah thats why i was down there tonight, needed to run through their placement and thickness etc, as it is, his painter f'd up the doors and blacked out too much, oh well, looks like his painter has a big day tomorrow
Great colour! Love the warm seventies colours. very sandman. Nice work.
I can't believe how similar our vans are, you even have our mags...are you sure you are not sneaking over to NSW and taking pics of our van?.... the only difference I can see is the mirror is still in your van, ours is not......Looks great
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"
Married to RodneyHZ253
Still got some work to do on getting it out to the upholsterer to finish up, but saturday i spent 6 hours at the workshop putting fiddly bits on the van. installed rebuilt steering column, window surrounds and front n rear bumpers.
the bumperettes took ages as the rare spares tailgate bump rubber bolts come with a nut n bolt thats only just long enough to get through to the other side of the mount, not to mention that the mount is threaded and you shouldnt need a nut, obviously RS didnt know this as the bolt supplied is smaller in dia than the original mount hole too.
here's the pic:
Looking good ski man! Hope you didnt swear at all:lol:

Coming together VERY well indeed.
Are you planning on having it on the road before Jennie's?
well, the original plan was to have it on show today, but due to a couple setbacks it'll be cruising next weekend with any luck. rather than rush things to make a deadline its better to just take some time to get the details right.
Im not trying to beat anyone but it is a bit cool that two vans that rolled off the line a matter of weeks apart will be re-born in the same manner. im hoping that as per our chassis numbers mine will be done about a week after Jennie and Rods.
